Our Philosophy

Close Associates believes that good architecture belongs in every project, large and small. We continue to design homes, even screen porches and home greenhouses, because of the positive impact on people's lives and on humanizing the firms larger projects. We also strive to serve our immediate neighborhood/community because we know it and enjoy seeing our contributions. We no longer design only “modern” buildings, but believe each client and site deserve their unique design response. Finally, we believe that good architecture comes from solid client relationships. Getting to know our clients is critical to a project's success. Lisl Close commented, reflecting on her career with the firm, “We made a lot of friends.” We think that signals success.
